WORK is expected to start soon on the site of a new arts complex in Prestatyn.
A drilling rig is due to move on to the site of the former Scala cinema in High Street to carry out bore hole tests.
Following the announcement of a £1.5m grant for the scheme from the Welsh Assembly, Denbighshire County Council examined ways of obtaining match-funding, through a larger contribution from the town council and a grant from the Foundation for Sport and Arts.
A request was also made to npower renewables, which runs the North Hoyle windfarm and contributes to a community fund.
The Welsh Development Agency indicated funding will be available and so tenders are being sought for the demolition of the flytower and clearance of the site.
