A GALAXY of home-grown stars will descend on Prestatyn’s new look Scala later this month as part of a red carpet community celebration to remember.

Stars of The West End Theatre, Hollywood Film Stars, International Opera singers, Famous composers, world famous conductors, internationally acclaimed writers, actors, poets, presenters and international sportsmen will all be under one roof at A Night with the Stars and Statyn Awards on August 22.

Together with the likes of Carol Vorderman, Mike Peters, Spencer Wilding and Tara Bethan, people drawn from the local community will have their contribution to the town’s community spirit recognised during the awards ceremony

Canon Clive Southerton, organiser, said:

“The whole idea of this evening is to honour our local stars who have been successful in their own field.

“Together with these you will see members of our own community who in their different ways have served us well being awarded for their good works receiving a Statyn.”

As well as providing an opportunity for people to experience a live performance at the new-look Scala arts centre proceeds will go towards the Open Every Door project – hoping to stage a production of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat featuring young people in Wales, Ireland and Singapore.

“We have a host of talent for you and I can assure you that you will enjoy a real feast of entertainment – never before been performed on the same stage, “added Canon Clive Southerton.

“This I hope will become an annual event and next year the general public will have a greater say in who should receive these awards.

“This could well be my last big event that I will be promoting locally and I can promise you a never to be forgotten evening.”

Tickets costing £20 (concessions for children and groups)
